The novelty of celebrating the truly banal is part of the appeal.

Art doesn’t have to be serious.
Sometimes, it can just be fun.

While paintings of every day things are as old as time, most modern items wouldn’t hit industrial production lines until centuries after the artists who popularised the “old” style—with its moody lighting, oil paints, thick brush strokes, and dramatic vibes—had died.

In an attempt at evoking some sort of nostalgia, when creating my paintings, I try to honour the culture, foods and drinks of my youth with the same seriousness one might have applied to a still life depicting a noble feast of the ages gone past.
